The
WSU Bioinformatics Core is a multidisciplinary service center
that assists research projects in bioinformatics and allied
fields such as genomics and proteomics. As part of the Center
for Integrated Biotechnology and Center for Reproductive Biology,
the Bioinformatics Core will foster faculty research collaborations
and operate a Bioinformatics User Lab for WSU researchers.
The Bioinformatics Core facility provides investigators
with centralized genomics and proteomics data storage and
analysis. The Core consists of secure high performance servers
and workstations. The data generated by the Proteomics and
Genomics Core facilities will be seamlessly integrated for
storage and analysis by the most commonly used analysis packages.
The individual users can also login to the core servers in
order to transfer their data for analysis from/to local terminals.
Bioinformatics Core services can be accessed through the WSU
bioinformatics web site. The web site will serve as a centralized
hub (web-based client/server interfaces) with links to the
servers, software packages and WWW mirror sites for DNA/protein
analysis.
